As an advocate for the advancement of women, Sherri is also passionate about healing and empowering the family unit. Sherri Bedford Downs grew up in a single parent home often being privy to adult interactions. Her mother Annie would open their home to many women, who were often needing a place to stay and most of the time they were fleeing unsafe environments. Carrying not much with them; but a bag of clothing and their small children in tow. 

 

As a young girl Sherri witnessed her mother Annie, who had very little, open her door to women who would sleep on their couch, for days or weeks, her mother shared the little she had with them. They remained with them until they were able to find a more stable place to go and sometimes even deciding to go back into the unsafe places they had just fled from. 

 

Through her journey and having her very own challenges and overcoming them, Sherri became passionate about helping women so she started life coaching and decided that giving wisdom and counsel was just a start. Sherri became an advocate for healing, for not just women, but for the family, so Sherri launched Annie's Safe Haven Inc. H.O.P.E.
